If you are a Penangite, you've probably heard of Golden Bowl. It has
several branches in Penang. The one we visited was Golden Bowl Cafetiam, their
first and main branch which is located at Batu Lanchang, somewhere near the market.
It has both the indoor and alfresco seating. The alfresco seating is by the
roadside under some trees. You might ‘risk your life’ if you choose to sit
under the trees as the birds might accidentally throw some golds (shit) on you (on your head or on your food). LOL! Not kidding, it happened to us! The bird was somewhere above
us and it shat! Guess what? It added additional flavors to our plate of
sandwiches. Not sure if we were lucky or unfortunate…. (Wonder Queen: Yes, I was the victim who witnessed it! Haha! But it saved me from finishing the whole plate of sandwiches... Good to my diet plan though haha!)

Hor Kasai (RM1.90)
We ordered Hor Kasai (Hot), which is a mixture of coffee and milo. Unlike the Hor Kasai you find elsewhere, it’s topped with frothy steamed milk. It gives you a milk moustache after drinking it. :p
(Wonder Queen: I personally like the foam on top, but the sweetness was killing me a bit haha~ What moustache? It's the romantic Korean drama scene - foam kiss okay?!)

Japanese Uji Matcha (RM6.90)
One of their snowy drink series. The beverage was refreshing and full of matcha flavours. Furthermore, the ice was blended well which you won’t taste any lumps in the beverage. This is a must-ordered beverage.
(Wonder Queen: I like this the most but the cheese foam wasn't carrying the enough cheese flavour~)

Salted Cream Cheese Kopi ‘O’ (RM5.90)
Salted cream cheese drinks are one of the trendiest and most popular drinks recently. People are going crazy over it. You can find it in Golden Bowl Cafetiam too. We tried the Salted Cream Cheese Kopi ‘O’ and it was not bad at all. This is definitely a superior enjoyment at affordable price.
(Wonder Queen: I still think that the foam can be more cheesier~ Coz I'm a heavy cheese taker.)

Golden Sandwich (RM7.50)
We can’t live without bread and thus, we ordered the Golden Sandwich. As you can see from the pictures, the portion was big. The sandwiches were flavourful with lots of fillings such as sausages, ham and cheese. If you do not like vegetables, this will be the best sandwich for you.
(Wonder Queen: This reminds me of the HK famous Club Sandwiches 公司三文治~ And this was the one which further topped with a gold by the bird. Haha!)

Golden Fried Chicken with Signature Sauce (RM13.90)
We also ordered their Golden Fried Chicken with Signature Sauce. It tasted like some fried chicken dishes from western food stall. However, the chicken was juicy and wasn’t too oily.
(Wonder Queen: Yes, I like this but I was so sad coz initially I wanted to order the grilled one thinking it could be healthier haha!)

Tomyam Cheese Maggie (RM7.90)
We had never thought that cheese would be a perfect match for
Tomyam until we tried this - Tomyam Cheese Maggie. The cheese enhanced the
flavor of the tomyam broth and took it to the next level. It was appetizing and
we finished it until we were able to turn the bowl upside down over our head.
Hahaha!
(Wonder Queen: My 3rd sis, the girl in the pic likes this the most~ But the cheese slice was not that easy to be melted.)

Cheezy Milky Maggie (RM8.90)
One must order the Cheezy Milky Maggie when visiting the Golden
Bowl Cafetiam. It is one of their signature dishes. The broth was cheesy and
creamy and we think it’s meant for sharing. It will be overwhelming if you
attempt to finish it on your own.
(Wonder Queen: That lady owner aka tauke sor told me that she used to cook this during her school days and she thought this would be a good time to share her own GEM with the others. Thanks to her, we could be able to taste this cheesy GEM!)

Grilled Honey Sausages (RM6)
Do not assume
that these sausages are just the plain ones. They are called as Grilled Honey Sausages.
There was a strong hint of honey and it was perfectly grilled.
(Wonder Queen: I only took a bite and my bro, Jackson, the boy in the pics devoured all~ Haha! He never let go of sausages!)

Although it is just a kopitiam (local coffee shop), they put an
effort to dress up their tables with tablecloths. The tablecloth makes the food
more presentable and instagrammable.

We were happy and excited to see the table full of food. It made
waking up early worth it.
