Today is officially the last day of 2012. This topic is gonna be the last topic I will update...last for the year of 2012!!! Haha! Gonna start a brand new 2012 soon. Our neighborhood always gathers together with tons of food and bonds our relationships even closer on the last week of December annually. This year, the gathering was happened on 29th December which means the day before yesterday. This kind of annual gathering had been waged since the year of 2007, if I am not mistaken. When I was still a little girl wearing a light blue apron attending to high school. Haha! Can't imagine I am all grown up! Unthinkable! Every year, my dad cooked his famous curry chicken for the neighbors. But this year, we've made it totally different. We did 2 so-called New Year Cakes for this party. YooHoo!!! It was my creative idea.
The party was gonna start at 7.30pm but I took my nap til 4pm. After waking myself up, I started to prepare for baking my New Year Cakes. All of my sisters weren't at home, so, I did it all! I got frustrated and anxious at first. Time healed my anxiety as I found that baking these cakes was just a piece of cake. Really! You just have to mix it, stir it and beat it. Haha!
My old nanna's oven was too old that it took much time to bake my cakes. I put it into the oven at 5pm but it was only perfectly cooked at 7pm. OMG! My nervousness was arising. Luckily, my sisters came home on time so they could help me out. Thanks to them. We got all dressed up with our comfy clothes and was preparing to go out enjoying Food Hunting. Here's the pics, enjoy...~~~:
My New Year Cake topped with melted milky chocolate and some chocolate sprinkles and 5 different colours of M&M. The base cake is in double chocolate flavoured. |
Another same one. But this one was in a round shape. YUM YUM!!! |
A closer look to my cakes. They were rich in choco flavour and after it starts to melt inside your mouth, you would taste a bit of saltiness came from the butter. They were even better if you put them into refrigerator overnight. |
This one called Peachy Balls prepared by my 3rd sis n her boy. Nice appealing and even nicer in flavour as the sweetness of the peaches mix well with the chicken balls. |
This one was prepared and decorated by my 2nd sis. They were some Kacang/peanuts and small cuts of snickers. Just an ordinary snacks with an enchanting appearance. Haha!!! |
Took a pic with my 3rd sis and my masterpieces. They were huge! Seriously! And my hands were like shaking due to the starvation. Haha! Same face meh? As my friends always claim that we are like the same mould. Haha! |
My 3rd sis's boy named Jackson and my 2nd sis called Karen or Carrot! Haha! |
Justards!!! I wasn't sure who brought them here. Anyways, my mom grabbed 5 of them for us. |
Wow! I was like WOW! It didn't look like a watermelon! Haha! It looked like a queen with crown. Haha! |
A tremendous amount of jelly. Orange and kiwi flavours. Not so nice as they were not chewy! Haha! Sorry for my genuinely honesty! |
On that day, there were ranges from chinese cuisine to Italian Cuisine! Domino Pizzas in the house!!! Not the house, it was on the road! Haha! 7 whole pizzas with different flavours were all done within 10 mins! Great! |
My dad and his friend called Henry. We called him Uncle Henry and he is a speedy motorcycle rider. |
Was taking a pic b4 food hunting. We were all in our Tees! I wore my specs as I was too lazy to put the contact lens into my eyes. Hiak Hiak! |
Are they cupcakes? Or eggs? Correct answer is they were eggs with mayonnaise and cherry tomatoes on the top. I still got 2 of them in my refrigerator now. Haha As we couldn't manage to finish every bites. |
Wow! WOw! WOw! After the chairman done with his opening speech, my neighbours were like a swarm of bees coming to the food and grabbing them in speed. |
I didn't join them as I wanted to book places for my family. Keke "Evil Grins" Clever mind!!! |
The pic can tell it all! It tells that the food was delicious as my dad was posing a victory sign and my mom didn't even notice me! Haha! |
Justards!!! Yesterday, they were still in my frige. By today there are still 1 and a half. |
My dad was so so happy at that night! He kept smiling to the camera with his delicious food. |
My 4th sis, 2nd sis and ME!!! Justards were in our hands! |
Suddenly, a raindrop fell on my neck and it rained softly. We decided to continue partying in our carpark. Laksa, kuih-muih and Nasi Berani haven't been bite yet! |
Me and my dad! I like the blurry of this pic! |
I am real good in taking photo now. Haha! Don't you like it? I like this pic! |
Daddy and Jackson! Like buddies. Just pretending! hHAha! Oh! I see Laksa there! Slurpppp! |
Spitting out our tiny reddish tongues!!! Yep, that was my idea! |
We still have lots of different poses but I like this the most coz my daddy was so cute! Looked like my Pinky PONG!!! Haha! |
My Pinky Pong wanted to join us so badly!!! YU Yu don't ya cry!!! |
At around 10pm, the party was still in the middle but my dad had his bath and dressed up his pajamas and requested me to take his pics! Here is one! By seeing the flowers, it can tell that Chinese New Year is coming soon!!! HAha! |
After the party, we watched a movie in our lovely living room before wandering in our sweet dream. The END.
Happy New Year to y'all!!!
Humble Beginning launched in Penang! Hi again since I just blogged yesterday. Another hot topic in this town recently is the crepe cake. Two of the crepe cake shops are Humble Beginning and Twelve Cups. Nowadays, Penangites crazy about this kind of cake. I don't know whether they know how much calories does one crepe cake own. My sis told me that this crepe cake is possessing more calories than an usual cake. OMG! After noticing about this freaking news, I start to use a different view towards this crepe cake. Haha!
I had tasted the Humble Beginning when I was still in my primary school. But I kinda forgot the flavor of this cake so I decided to taste it again. It was happened back in more than a month. My 3rd and 4th sis suggested to go to Straits Quay with the reason of sitting inside the Starbucks for completing their assignment and finding some inspirations. Coz, I'm typically a home girl since I don't like hanging out. I prefer watching TV while laying in my couch. My sis started to convince me to have a rest at the outside. Then, ON On!!! I followed them with a bit of regrets. Keke!
Many of my friends have posted the pics of the Humble Beginning's crepe cake and claimed that the cakes were really mouth-watering. To investigate whether they are right, I had my trial. We bought 2 crepe cakes from Humble Beginning, here's the photos:
They have a pretty box design. I like the colour, Pink!!! And some flower that makes it more contrast. Tiny white dots with a Lomo style! One word, CUTE!!! |
Have a sneak peep inside the box, there are Swiss Chocolate and Yoghurt Cheese Crepe Cakes!!! |
This is the Yoghurt Cheese Crepe Cake. It taste exactly like the common Yoghurt Cheese cake sold in Secret Recipe. But its texture is very powdery and when it touches your tongue, you will taste an intense flavour of milk and egg. Not bad but for me I still prefer that one served by Secret Recipe. Hehe! "Devil Grins" |
This is the Swiss Chocolate Crepe Cake. All I can taste is the sweetness of the chocolate. And the powdery texture makes me stop to have another bite. Really. But there's one secret to make it tastier is to put it into your crisper for a night. After it, you will figure out that it really tastier. Haha! Coz, once the chilling refrigerator firms its texture, it combines all the layers up and will not be powdery again. Good Good!! |
Its sexy back! Forgot to mention that the chocolate powder on the top of the crepe cake taste a bit of dark chocolate feel. |
To enhance the flavour of the cake even more, I suggest you to order a cup of Starbucks. Not really have to be Starbucks, Ah Huat Bai Ca Fe also can!!! Keke! The coffee can separate the flavours of the cakes and make it more wonderful. |
My 3rd sis, Christine. It was actually her Coffee. Haha! |
Me n her coffee!!! What a lazy afternoon! Felt good of laying down on the couch in such a nice environment with a orange-yellowish lighting. This is called L.I.F.E!!! |
I was acting as a mentor for my sis! Was giving her much inspiration and... ideas....Just kidding! Haha! |
One slice of this crepe cake costs RM 9.90. Was quite expensive! Haha! In my case, I won't go there for second time coz it's high in calories and price and it is not worthwhile for me! Haha! Sorry for being too honest!!! Maafkan lah aku!!!

It was all happened on the last Saturday evening. Journalist from Kwang Hua Yit Poh came to my house for a reason. The reason was to interview my dad. Was my dad gonna be an actor or singer? Haha No way! Too funny for that! It was because my dad has been donating to many events including the "Hao Ren Hao Shi" which was a part of the Kwang Hua Yit Poh. He said he had started donating ever since he was in his late 30s. Wow, dad, you made me proud of you! Haha!
I stood aside while the interviewing was begun. The journalist asked tons of questions and wrote down whatever my dad told her. They then took pictures and had a little unrelated chatting. But the underlying point was my dad said he wanted to help those in need. He always didn't mention his own name as he wanted nobody to have noticed about who was that saint.
In the midst of interviewing. My dad was telling his own story and memories he reminisced. |
The journalist took pics of my dad and his receipts of donation. |
My tea table was filled with the receipts of donation. |
I was so excited at that time! |
The heaping receipts of donation. |
A shake hand pose after the interview. |
As a conclusion, everyone is encouraged to do something good in one's life. Love Life!!! Today is the day after the X'mas, later will go to have a movie, probably "The Life of Pi". After today, baking mood is on again as the next event is marked in this coming Saturday. The neighbourhood year end Party!!! BB!!!
"The stakes are high, the water's rough but this love is ours." ^.^!!!
Wow! It's been a few of weeks since I last updated my lovely blog. I was busy with my final exam back then with promising myself not to in contact with FB, Twitter and Blog. But I let myself to release my stress with the Youtube. Coz, I was waiting for the Taylor Swift's new MV, "I knew you were trouble". I watched it! It was really not that country style. Haha. But as long as is she, I will support her forever!
Let's back to today's topic, friends! December is the month that light up my cooking mood. It was like every single December, our family will be ended up with tons of cakes chewing in our mouth. Mostly done by me! Haha! Self-praising with exaggeration! Last year, I had posted on my blog about my baking masterpiece, chocolate cake. That was an easy breezy one. This year, I did something special, that was Oreo Cheese Cake.
I baked them in just yesterday. Its process took me for about 3 to 4 hours. I wasn't that sure. My 4th sis helped me out by acting as my personal assistant. Haha! Both of us love cakes and pastries a load.
These Oreo Cheese cakes are topped with Oreo cookies and rainbow velvet. After baking in the oven, it did release some good smells. They need to be placed in the crisper for overnight, to make it tastier and more texture. Today, I finally get a closer and deeper approach to my baby masterpiece. Until now, there are 6 people excluding me already have a taste of my delicious and freshly Oreo Cheese Cake. 5 of them gorged my masterpieces and gave me good comments. But one of my taster who was involved in this baking process yesterday, my 4th sis not that impressed and gave me only 69% out of 100%. She said it seemed to be lack of some flavour.
I was self-doubted in the whole early morning until I waking up from a nap and taking a bite of my cake. It was nice!!! A bit of bitterness and full of sweetness. The savoury cheese made me flying in the cloud nine. Keke. Let's see how beautiful my Oreo Cheese Cake is!!!
Focus on the Oreo topping first. |
A closer look!I feel like wanna run to my refrigerator and eat it all! |
Temptation of the Rainbow Velvet Oreo Cheese Cake. Its colourful topping is the remark. |
Both of them!!! I feel great and proud of my kids! Haha! |
How it looks like after you taking a bite of this Oreo Cheese Cake. You can taste the cream too. This cake is not that thick in cheese flavor that will make you not gonna take another bite. It is creamy and firm which is not that sandy. The most important part is that the Oreo Cookie is still crunchy! Keke!! |
My daddy who is also my lasting fan that keeps supporting me! He was tasting my cake and saying how delicious it was and acting out exaggeratedly. |
Alright! Coming update will be funnier! So, stick with my blog ya! Bye! And Merry Christmas in Advance! No doomsday! Yaya!!!
Santorini Cafe in Penang! We went to Santorini after having desserts at China House few months ago. I'm now different look with the following photos that I'm gonna post. Coz the photos were taken like back in 4 months ago. Originally, we wanted to have our dinner at Behind 50 but unfortunately, they were fully booked by customers. So, we changed our plan to have dined in at Santorini.
This was my first time for having dinner at there. This restaurant has downstairs and upstairs. Downstairs were filled with customers so we went upstairs. It was like a Tatami room without any chairs. So, if you are bringing your parents to there, you better dine downstairs for convenience. The room was filled with dimmed lights. Every pic that we had taken was so dark and blur.
Let's get in the topic! Here are some of the pictures:
Since it was such a long period ago, I had forgotten the name of the dishes. Really Sorry! haha It was, I think was Carbonara Spaghetti with a grilled fish. This was great in taste. Very rich in carbonara and a bit of milk. It was in a really big portion. |
This was marinara seafood spaghetti, RM 10.90. Erm, I think the carbonara one was better. So, you got what I meant? Haha! |
This was ordered by me. It was called Pineapple Fried Fish if I'm not mistaken. I didn't think it had anything special. It was just a piece of pineapple with cheese on the top of the fish. haha! Plus, the fish has a little bad smell. Not good. |
This was santorini coffee chicken chop which cost RM 12.90. This was great but I could not taste much of the coffee flavor. Whatever, as long as it was better than mine! |
Oat Chicken Chop -RM 10.90, this was nice too. But not the best that I ever ate. The oat was just on the top of the chicken chop. It didn't mix with the chicken before it was fried. |
Our table. 5 of the main dishes. I recommend you guys to order the carbonara and the coffee chicken chop. |
I could not wait to have a bite of my dish! So, I bit my plate! Haha with my 4th sis. |
4 of us. Room was just filled by us with nobody else. We could act in free-style! |
