Hoshino Coffee 星乃咖啡店 @Queensbay Mall, Penang.
I bet Hoshino Cafe is not new anymore to you right? Haha! But this is my first try at Hoshino Cafe. Prior to my visit, I’d seen quite a few negative comments on their food. This dragged my heart backwards to not even try it. Fortunately, it turned out well! Their food is unexpectedly yummy! Hashino Cafe’s menu is quite akin to Doutor Cafe at Gurney. Having said that, their french toast is also alike to Miam Miam’s.
Hereby sharing my dining experience at Hoshino Cafe.
Don’t go inside without lining up as the waitress will invite you out if you don’t line up haha~ So, normally you’ll see a long line at the outside, especially during the peak hours.

The interior design is quite nice, old school vibes. I like their chandelier and of course the sofa. Coz if you’d watched HK drama b4, only rich family would have this kind of sofa set at home. Haha!

My sis ordered this and she said it’s quite nice.
Hot Fruit Tea RM17.90
Momo ordered this. Let her detox haha! You may refill this pot if you wish to but please bear in mind that they will only refill it with hot plain water.
Softshell Crab Paella RM31.60
1 Softshell Crab can be seen lying on the top. The texture is not hard, so it’s still ok for kids and elders. It’s quite healthy in the sense that they put some broccoli and vege on top. The rice itself is yellow in colour which threw me the idea of ‘黃姜飯’ yellow ginger rice that you eat it when someone’s baby is officially 1-month-old haha! But the taste is definitely not like that. The flavour is so special which I’m not familiar with. Rice is not too chewy but it’s quite oily for me. All of them like this a lot too.
Chicken Karaage Arrabbiata 23.7
Okay, fried chicken on top. Why always fried eh?! Haha! I prefer grilled! The spaghetti is cooked with tomato sauce which I think is quite sweet to my liking and of course vege again. Surprisingly, they use eggplant! My FAV! The flavour is yummy too but just too sweet lah haha~ Maybe, it’s my tongue problem.
Chicken Cheesy Cutlet Plate RM28
Actually, this dish is no bad lah~ But I just went to Korea and had their tonkatsu so for me this is still so-so. The outer part of the tonkatsu is not crunchy enough; cheese is not oozing out, sauce is not remarkable. But the wedges is good. Here to mention, the rice is Japanese rice so don’t be afraid of it. I know a lot of other eateries tends to use the local rice.
French Toast RM17.7 0
This is our FAV!!! Even Momo also likes this the most as she doesn’t really like desserts. The toast is so crunchy on the edges and the cream on top is the BOOM!!! You may drizzle the maple syrup by yourself. I just drizzled a bit and it was more than enough already. No need word to explain, just go and experience it with your own tongue!
Overall, Hoshino Cafe deserves a second visit or even more~ It’s just they don’t have Wifi and warm water…haha! Okay, I’m a greedy customer~
See ya!
